Photography
The world through the lens
I find in photography a unique way to capture the world around me. My photographic journey is not just about technical perfection or composition, but primarily about the stories that each shot tells. Photography for me represents a way of seeing the world - observing details, contrasts, and moments that often elude the average observer.
In my projects, whether they are ghost towns of the gold rush in North America or abandoned hotels along the Croatian coast, I seek places on the edge of time, spaces between the past and the present. My photographs of these locations are not merely documentation, but a poetic reflection on the transience of human ambitions and the power of nature.
I have been part of the photographic community for many years, I was a member of the photographic club Děčínský výběr, founder of NikonClub Czech Republic, and later part of the project Fotografove.info. My work has appeared in various publications including the prestigious The Guardian and in several books. Even so, I still consider myself an amateur who photographs "simply because I enjoy it".
In the context of my work with abandoned places and ghost towns, photography represents a way to preserve disappearing worlds, to capture fleeting moments between existence and demise, and perhaps also a means to offer the viewer space for their own interpretation and reflection. The analog process allows me to slow down, to be more present in the moment and to consider each shot with greater care - which resonates perfectly with the themes of abandoned places, where time seems to flow at a different pace.
